Bathing Your Baby

Make sure you have on hand:


* Five hooded terry cloth bath sacks for after bath time.

* At least five terry cloth towels.

* At least five terry cloth wash towels.

* Baby Soap and Shampoo. Johnson and Johnson and Burt's Bee's make excellent baby cleaning products.

Feeding Time

Make sure you have on hand:

* At least twenty cloths or diapers you can throw over your shoulder for burping baby.

* At least six washable bibs.

* At least eight bottles for juice, water and milk.

* Extra nipples and caps.

* Milk expresso or breast pump for breast feeding mom's.

* A ceramic or metal bowl for warming milk or an electric milk warmer.


Other Baby Must Have's

A baby carriage or stroller. This is so you can show off your new baby to the neighbors. You can buy a big old-fashioned metal carriage or one of the new flexible fold up kinds that are made of canvas. Glaco makes a very versatile stroller called the Metrolite LE stroller. A car seat. We have found some ones that are top rated in terms of safety and security.

* The Snugride LX5 is a baby car seat that has been commended for its patented safety latch buckles. It can be viewed at Amazon.com


Extra Pacifiers. Make sure you always keep a "six pack" of these on hand because they are always getting lost or falling on the floor.


Baby Play Mats. These are amazing things that keep baby occupied and happy for hours. They are cushy mats that come with arches made of flexible plastic. Soft toys made of felt and cotton are hung from the arches to keep baby amused for hours. Tiny Ones is a company that makes great versions of these. You can find these play mats at Amazon.com. Baby Self Rockers. These are little portable canvas rockers that can be a lifesaver for busy mom's who don't have time to rock their baby. You place baby in the rocker and the slightest movement keeps them from crying. A great one is the Comfort Me Bouncer from the John Lennon collection which comes with a hood. Baby Toys. Perhaps one of the best toys you can buy your baby is the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium, which plays music, soothing ocean sounds and doubles as a night light. The machine also bubbles and gurgles water and displays light patterns that your child can watch on the ceiling. This toy is so soothing and amusing that many adults are tempted to buy one as a relaxation aid for themselves!
